DESCRIPTION: A transparent varnish in gloss or satin
providing a colourless, hard but flexible dirt and water-repellent
finish. It is sweat and saliva proof. For use on all interior
timber surfaces, such as windows, banisters, furniture, toys,
ceilings and paneling. Not recommended for constantly humid
environments such as bathrooms and laundries. Bio thinner is
suitable for fine restoration work.
Note: for timber flooring see BIO Floor Varnish
PREPARATION: Do not apply coatings to unseasoned or wet
timber. Wood should be well sanded, dry and cleaned of greasy, waxy
and dirty contaminants using BIO Thinner. Round off sharp edges. It
is also good practice to prime back surfaces. Hardwoods and
timbers rich in natural oils, waxes, acids and terpenes should be
degreased using Bio Thinner, because these substances may mix with
the varnish and prolong its drying time. Let dry for 24 hours.
Imperfect coats may require complete stripping before applying BIO
Products.
PRIMING: Baltic Pine and Pinus Radiata, Prime with one
coat of Priming Oil. Remove excess oil after 15-30 minutes. Allow
drying for 24 hours, and then applying Bio All Purpose Varnish.
APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly before use with a broad flat
stirrer. Thin with 10-20% BIO Thinner to obtain a smooth flowing
consistency. Brush thinly and evenly, working varnish well into the
grain. Thick coats wrinkle when dry. Maintain a wet edge when
painting. Brush out air bubbles. Allow 12 to 24 hours to dry
between coats. Lightly sand between coats if necessary with fine
sandpaper. Apply the second and subsequent coats only after the
previous coat has thoroughly dried. Low temperature and humid
conditions prolong the drying time. Do not paint below +10C and or
above 80% humidity, in cold damp conditions, when
condensation, rain, dew or frost are likely to occur or hot days,
direct sunlight and hot surfaces. Provide adequate
ventilation during application and drying. Reaches maximum
durability after 21 days.
