areas on highly absorbent woods and stone. For impregnation of
cross cut wood in window building. Suitable for Cotto tiles. Do not
use on cabinet interiors or fruit tree wood.
VARIATION OF USES:
Technical qualities: Open-pored, permanently elastic,
reinforces the wood structure, slow drying. DIN 53 160 certified
for color fastness when exposed to perspiration and saliva. DIN EN
71 Part 3 certified as suitable for toys.
Full declaration: Linseed oil and drying agents free of
lead.
Color: Light yellow (color index approximately 14
according to Gardner).
Dilution: SVALOS Dilutant No. 222.
Application method: Apply using a brush, spraying device
or by dipping (+ 100 % SVALOS Dilutant No. 222) at temperatures
above 12°C (53,6°F). Remove excess product from treated surface
after approximately 30 minutes.
Coverage: 1 undiluted liter is sufficient for
approximately 12-18 m2 per coat. Coverage could be
considerably less depending upon the condition and absorbency of
the surface.
Drying time: At 23°C (73°F) and 50% relative humidity: 24
- 48 hours.
Cleaning up: Clean equipment immediately after use with
LEVO Brush Cleaner No. 994.
Specific gravity: Approximately 0.92 g/ml.
Important information: LINUS Priming Oil No. 260 contains
no protective against blue-staining fungi.Products containing
linseed oil tend to experience drying difficulties when used on
cabinet interiors due to ventilation and light deficiencies,
resulting in a persistent smell of linseed oil. LIVOS products such
as LANDIS No. 701, BELOS No. 706, GORMOS Wax Oil No. 267or KALDET
Transparent Wood Stain No. 270 are better suited for this
application.

Safety advice:
|
Always be sure to store cleaning cloth, polishing pads, sponges,
etc. that are still wet or even slightly moist with LINUS Priming
Oil No. 260 in an airtight metal container or in water and dispose,
as there is a danger of spontaneous combustion caused by the
linseed oil in the product.
|
The product alone will not undergo spontaneous combustion. For
Switzerland: poison-free to BAG T No. 71668.
Disposal: According to locally regulated laws.
Container sizes: 0.75 l; 5 l; 10 l; 30 l; 200 l.
Storage: Cool and dry, please see label for expiration
date. Close lid tightly when not in use.
Untreated wood surfaces: The surface must be dry (wood
moisture content under 15 %), solid, able to absorb, and free of
grease and dust. Pre-treat resin-rich woods by brushing with SVALOS
Dilutant No. 222 and exotic woods with KIROS Dilutant No. 710, then
rub dry.
Interior wood surfaces: Depending upon the surface
requirements, apply 1-2 very thin coats. Thinning product with
SVALOS Dilutant No. 222 is recommended. No longer than 30 minutes
after each coat is applied, the moist, shiny spots of excess
product must be removed with a clean cloth according to the
directions. Finish surface with LIVOS products.
Exterior wood surfaces: Impregnate the surface with LINUS
Priming Oil No. 260. Exterior wood surfaces prone to blue staining
fungi should be pre-treated with a preventative. Subsequent
treatment of the surface should follow with a LIVOS stain or Oil
paint suitable for exterior application.
Wood parquet and doors: Treat wood surfaces that are
subject to mechanical stress with MELD OS Natural Resin Hardening
Oil No. 264, ARDVOS Wood Oil No. 266, KUNOS Natural Oil Sealer No.
244 or No. 241. LINUS Priming Oil No. 260 is not suitable for this
application.
Cotto tiles: After deacidification (follow manufacturer's
instructions), leave the tiles untreated for a minimum of 4 weeks.
Treat one tile as a testC if white spots or a film develop, repeat
deacidification. Apply 1-2 coats of LINUS Priming Oil No. 260 as a
pre-treatment for highly absorbent tiles. It is very important to
carefully remove any excess product from the tile surface after
approximately 30 minutes. Saturate the surface with MELDOS Natural
Resin Hardening Oil No. 264. In dry areas, subsequent coats of BILO
Floor Wax No. 303 or No. 306 can be applied.
Fruit tree wood surfaces: Do not use LINUS Priming Oil
No. 260, as spotting of the surface is probable. DARIX Transparent
Wood Stain No. 297 is suitable for this application.
Exterior surface renovation: Remove dust, and brush
surface. Prime heavily weathered and highly absorbent wood surfaces
(with no old coatings) with LINUS Priming Oil. After treatment with
LIVOS-stains necessary.
Important tips: Always do a test application. In oak and
other woods containing incompatibilities such as tannic acid or
dyes, or that have been sanded, stripped, pre-treated, or stained,
discoloration is possible within a week. Subsequent treatment with
LIVOS oils, stains, lacquers or waxes.
